Tales from the River talks

The latest illustrated talk – when I shared stories and images of river recreation and industry collected in the project – was Thursday 1 May at Mildenhall and District Museum Society, with others to follow later in the year. Slides and notes are available to download.

This followed 12 different talks throughout the Brecks and the project. Each one is a bit different, and focuses on the local area where it is being held, or the particular interest of the organisation hosting the talk, and as the project has gathered more information there are more and different stories to share.

You can download Slides from the talk to Mildenhall Museum (PDF 26 pages) and the talk notes (Word.docx 8 pages).

Read more about stories along the rivers. Find reports of earlier talks, including notes and slides to download and see news on those coming up.

Mildenhall and District Museum has a wealth of fascinating information and a wonderful collection of images, many of which they kindly shared with the project, and which I will showcase in the illustrated talk, along with stories gathered by the museum and by project volunteers.

It is very enjoyable to do these talks because people enjoy hearing the information, and more importantly often share really interesting stories of their own.
