Brandon family walk April 2025, and more walks to come in August 2025

Though the five year BFER project officially ended December 2024, in January it was announced that there would be an extension until October, with more opportunities to do walks and other activities. We’ve already done another walk – read more below. And there will be lots more activities including history walks and swims and swim walks as part of the Brecks Outdoor Festival 9-24 August 2025. Programme to be published 31 May 2025, and this update post has or will have more information.

Brandon family river history walk 10 April 2025. Everyone enjoyed this short family walk on paths and green spaces in Brandon, on a glorious warm spring day, with children doing activities and everyone joining in with the bark rubbing at the Orchard, hearing about the landscape, archaeology, wildlife and history of the Brecks and the river. Thanks to Brandon Health Hub (Leisure Centre) for a warm welcome at the start and finish, to the Brandon Remembrance Playing Fields and Brandon and District Angling Club for their support and warm welcome.
